While her schoolmates struggle with Maths and Chemistry, most people in the fashion industry recognize blogger Tavi Gevinson, a fourteen-year-old girl from the suburbs of Chicago, who has been writing a fashion blog, STYLE ROOKIE, since she was eleven.
Tavi now spends her time at New York Fashion Week, as cover girl for magazines and wearing clothing customized for her by famous designers.
From the beginning, her blog had an element of mystery. People said: is it for real? How can a kid create and develop a blog?
Initially, most people questioned the authenticity of her blog, because it was very professional and full of high-level___contents____1.
Her parents did not completely know what Tavi was doing until she asked for their permission to appear in an article for the New York Times.
Now, her blog has 50,000 daily __followers___2 and she has become a regular guest at fashion shows. Last year, she was even chosen by Mattel to be one of the Barbie’s dolls.
STYLE ROOKIE is a collage of pics (__pictures__ 3) Tavi takes with her own Canon and personal thoughts on fashion. “I started blogging because I could discuss a topic my friends were not interested in”.
She serves as the best example of the new Generation Y, a generation of teenagers who are increasingly familiar with __ICT__ 4 (Information and Comunication Technologies).
